A lot has been said about Saturday’s first ever match up between standard bearers LA Galaxy and the fancy start-up that is Los Angeles Football Club. Frankly, I’m certain both teams just want to get on the field and battle. (12 PT, live on Fox)
What to watch:
Friday’s training session. With Ibrahimović scheduled to arrive Thursday evening at LAX, how the 36-year old looks in practice after a long flight and probably little sleep will determine how Sigi Schmid uses Ibra on Saturday.
What lineup will Sigi put out there? Ola Kamara is back from international duty and Ashley Cole is back, but have the three Designated Players recovered from hamstring injuries? (Update: It appears so)
Sigi Schmid says Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos, Jonathan dos Santos, and Michael Ciani participated in full training today. #LAGalaxy

The forgotten superstar. Make no mistake about it, Giovani dos Santos is on the ropes. The organization are no longer building around the talented but inconsistent attacker, who increasingly looks like he’ll have to earn a spot in a lineup chock-full of attacking pieces.
If Gio is available for selection, Dos Santos must respond.
