The LA Galaxy defeated Arizona United 2-1 on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the US Open Cup tournament. Gyasi Zardes had a second half brace both with his head allowing the Galaxy to come back from a 1-0 half time deficit. Robbie Rogers and Stefan Ishizaki had the service on the goals.

The victory moves the Galaxy into the fifth round for the first time since 2011. They'll travel to Cary, North Carolina on June 24th to face the Railhawks who eliminated the Galaxy in this tournament the previous two years. Chivas USA traveled to North Carolina in the fourth round losing to the Railhawks in penalties.

Neither Landon Donovan nor Robbie Keane were available for selection in Arizona. The fourth and fifth round matches will both take place before the Galaxy resume MLS play after the World Cup group stages, making them decent matches for keeping up form, and Bruce Arena no longer has some of his reserve team regulars to draw on with them getting time at LA Galaxy II.

Still, I wouldn't expect to see Designated Players in Carolina either.
