Chicharito is biding his time during the coronavirus shutdown, awaiting the arrival of his second child, training and posting dispatches on social media. But he’ll return to the field...in a manner of speaking, as MLS announced the LA Galaxy star will be part of the eMLS Special Tournament, a knockout bracket tournament taking place over the next several weeks.
16 teams will take part in the tournament, with each match being a two-leg series. The first will feature a current MLS player, in the case of the Galaxy Chicharito, while the second leg will be represented by the club’s eMLS pro, which is Giuseppe “Godfather” Guastella for LA.
The matches will be televised starting Sunday, and the Galaxy’s first match is against LAFC for an eMLS El Trafico to kick things off, winner moves on. Chicha will face Adama Diomande and Guastella will take on Martin Oregel.

Speaking of which, these matches will be shown on FS1, Fox Deportes and the Fox Sports app. Sunday’s slate will be Chicago-Cincy starting at 4 pm PT, with El Trafico coming afterwards.
So who ya got? Will Chicharito serve Diomande an L? Will the Godfather get the better of his eMLS rival? Let’s chat in the comments.
