The LA Galaxy played the Vancouver Whitecaps in their first preseason game on Tuesday in Carson, and with the game suddenly made closed to the media shortly before kickoff, information was hard to glean from the proceedings.

The Galaxy won 4-1.

Lucas Cavallini scored Vancouver’s goal, while photographic evidence seems to show Efrain Alvarez and Nick Dupuy were in the game for LA. Indications are that Sacha Kljestan, Aleksandar Katai, Rolf Feltscher, Perry Kitchen, Daniel Steres, Emiliano Insua, Julian Araujo and Cristian Pavon also played.

Katai scored a goal, based on this video:

And Ethan Zubak scored a nice goal for LA.

Here’s a video of Cavallini’s goal, from the Whitecaps.

Beyond that, who else scored for the Galaxy? Who else played? Who knows. Social media had some fun coming up with creative answers, but beyond that, we’re at the mercy of the team reporting that info, which will likely not come to light.

More news for your Wednesday:

  • Galaxy and YMCA partnership event: The club and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles are holding a community event at Lugo Park in Cudahy Wednesday evening to kick off their partnership. Executives from both entities, and some Galaxy players and other figures, are expected to be in attendance. The event is scheduled to run 4-6 pm.
  • Galaxy night at the Kings game: Feb. 20 will be LA Galaxy night at the LA Kings game. They’re offering a joint Galaxy-Kings scarf and special baseball hat. Find details on the Galaxy website.
  • Gio Reyna wondergoal: Remember the name of Gio Reyna. Son of former USMNT captain Claudio, the 17-year-old is at Borussia Dortmund, and after making his pro debut last month, scored his first pro goal in audacious fashion on Tuesday in the DFB Pokal.

Today’s question: 10 days until the next Galaxy preseason game. Which player do you think is best poised to impress in preseason and earn some additional playing time this season? Let’s chat about that or whatever you like in the comments below!
