The LA Galaxy have re-signed Giuseppe “GGGodfather” Guastella to be their eMLS player for the 2021 season, the club announced Wednesday.
Guastella has been the Galaxy’s eMLS player since launch in 2018, and he was the losing finalist in the 2019 eMLS Cup. He’s made the eMLS Cup competition in each season to date.
The announcement drop was truly top-notch, with Guastella, dressed like Al Pacino in “The Godfather, Pt. III”, quoting a famous line from the movie.

The homage was both a reference to his gamer handle, but also perhaps his message earlier this year that he was planning to take a break for a bit from FIFA play. In the end, another shot at glory was too good to pass up.
The 2021 eMLS season will kick off with Series 1 on Jan. 16-17, and Series 2 on Feb. 13-14. The repechage round, for those who haven’t already qualified for eMLS Cup, will be Mar. 16-17, with 2021 eMLS Cup scheduled for Mar. 20-21. The competition will all be held remotely, due to the coronavirus pandemic, with matches to be streamed on Twitch.
Happy to have you back, Godfather, and best of luck once the season kicks off.
