How to Watch Reno 1868 FC vs. LA Galaxy II

The playoffs are here!

The 2020 USL Championship playoffs are here, and LA Galaxy II are in the big dance, the only MLS2 team to make the postseason this year.

Technically, Reno are the top seed and LA are the lowest seed in the West, and Reno have been a juggernaut against nearly every opponent this season. They’ve blasted Phoenix Rising, who have had Los Dos’ number this year, but Reno’s kryptonite seems to be Sacramento Republic, who Los Dos beat this season. On paper, Reno are considered huge favorites, but I think some of that is the stats and LA’s anonymity nationally.

How can LA get the win in the single-elimination game? The big thing is not to get into a multigoal deficit. Junior Gonzalez’s group has been very good at playing in a variety of game states this season, but the only time they’ve really lost pace is when they go down by a couple goals and can’t overcome the deficit. If they can keep the game close, they’re in the game. And if they can take a lead, they can get a win. This youthful group has proven people wrong all season, and they have every chance of picking up a win and advancing in the playoffs. We just need to see them at their best. Should be an exciting game!

Odds:

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Friday evening, LA are (+360) while Reno are (-155). The odds of a tie (meaning level through 90 minutes) are (+250), so the bookmakers make the home team Reno huge favorites in this game. We’ll see if Los Dos can spring an upset.

How to Watch:

Saturday’s match between Los Dos and Reno 1868 will be televised nationally on ESPN+. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 6 pm PT with kickoff to follow at Greater Nevada Field in Reno.
