LA Galaxy vs. D.C. United 2016: Game time, TV schedule and live stream for MLS

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The LA Galaxy are ready to kick off the 2016 MLS season by taking on D.C.United at StubHub Center in the first and only league meeting between the teams this season.

After a disappointing end to the 2015 season and elimination in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, Galaxy manager Bruce Arena will hope this is the game where they finally start to find some form.

Arena told the club's official website: " The feel I have right now is it's going to be a good team. It's just going to take time. We have to start playing games now and see what we're about."

Indeed, it is hardly a secret that the current Galaxy side possess an abundance of attacking riches and there was always a sense this side were saving up the goals for the start of the MLS season. However, D.C. United will surely have paid attention to how uneasy the Galaxy defense was occasionally made to look in the first half against Santos Laguna.

Defense, then, continues to be the biggest question mark for this team to start the season. Ben Olson's side, who were also eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League during the midweek, will feel that this is their best chance at beating a well-built Galaxy team.

And so Sunday's game represents a good opportunity for the Galaxy to put those early doubts to rest. As Bruce Arena stressed, though, time is the only way to bring what is expected to be a long project to fruition. For the Galaxy, it starts now.
