On Wednesday, the LA Galaxy put the finishing touches on their preparation for the 2016 season as they host a closed-door scrimmage against the Seattle Sounders.
Having gone 2-0-1 in their first three exhibition matches, the Galaxy close out their preseason with one last match before taking on Santos Laguna in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals.
The Sounders, who come into this game after beating UCLA 5-1 in a three-period match, will have on eye on their own CCL clash against Club America on February 23.
For both teams, this match is all about preparation and fitness. With both clubs hosting big matches in a week, expect both sides to field their best starting eleven from the start.
"It'll be a good test for us playing at home," Robbie Keane told the club's official website. "It'll be a game where a lot of players will play 90 minutes. We're getting there. We're 80%, and I think that we'll be fine,"
Key Galaxy player -- Nigel de Jong
Nigel de Jong played his first 54 minutes with the Galaxy against the San Jose Earthquakes last weekend, but the two-time World Cup player is the Galaxy signing with least time on the training field. While de Jong comes from a team that is already four months into their season, it will be interesting to see how de Jong does in a full 90.
Key Sounders player -- Jordan Morris
Jordan Morris scored his first goal for the Sounders in Sunday's 5-1 win over UCLA. Morris signed as a Homegrown player back in January, and with Obafemi Martins set to move to China, the former Stanford man could be on his way towards plenty of playing time this upcoming season.
