Robbie Keane managed to get off a cracker of a goal last night in the scrimmage against LA Galaxy II. Seeing the goalkeeper off his line, Keane managed a training ground goal from about thirty-five yards out. The second minute goal was Keane's first in a brace.

There isn't much to learn from a match like the one last night. This goal is a good sign that Keane's recovery has gone well. He was also taken out from behind in the second half by Travis Bowen and was able to continue, so he looks to be in fine form for the upcoming season.

Of greater question seems to be which forward will start next to Keane in the opener. Both Samuel and Rob Friend went forty-five minutes, with Samuel managing a goal that Keane got the second assist on. Both players still have some time to make their case with the season opener two weeks off.
