Hi folks, had a few days off due to the holiday but back in the saddle and let’s catch up on what has happened.

First and foremost, LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was voted MLS Player of the Week for Week 7 of the 2021 season. Bond made 12 saves in a 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday.

The 12-save performance was second-best in club history and somewhat paradoxically, it was the heaviest lifting done by a goalkeeper in Galaxy history in a shutout win to date.

Unsurprisingly, Bond was also named to the MLS Team of the Week for his exploits.

Bond is the second Galaxy player to win MLS Player of the Week so far this season, joining Chicharito’s back-to-back honors to open the season. The English newcomer is off to a blinding start for his new club, and obviously here’s hoping he continues this fine vein of form while he’s a G.
