The LA Galaxy announced Thursday they have entered a new sponsorship deal with Herbalife, this one to make the wellness brand the official left sleeve jersey sponsor.
That means Herbalife will be on two surfaces of official player kits, across the front as they have been for over a decade, and now on the left sleeve as well.
“We are excited to have our valued partner Herbalife Nutrition featured on our left jersey sleeve this season,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein in a team statement. “As our partnership expands beyond the playing field and into serving the community around us, it is fitting that they will continue to be represented on jerseys worn by our team. We look forward to their representation on our jersey sleeve as we kick off our 26th season in MLS.”
The new sleeve sponsor is joined by a second one inked this offseason by the Galaxy, with online retail tech company Honey, which will be featured on the right sleeve.
One important note from the club is that fans cannot purchase jerseys with the new Herbalife sleeve sponsor on them, even “authentic” retail jerseys, per MLS regulations. Only on-field jerseys worn by players will have the full suite of ads, but the Galaxy promise there will be opportunities to buy game-worn jerseys through charitable auctions.
