The U.S. Men’s National Team opened what’s likely to be a busy 2021 slate on Sunday with a 7-0 romp over Trinidad & Tobago in a friendly at Exploria Stadium in Orlando.

The game wrapped up the annual January training camp for the USMNT, and featured one LA Galaxy play in the lineup, midfielder Sebastian Lletget, who started and played 45 minutes before departing the match.

By Lletget’s standards, he had a fairly quiet game, playing just half of it and not registering a goal or assist in a lopsided win. However, the name of the game for a veteran on this team in this circumstance is to do a job and not get hurt or do anything stupid, and mission accomplished in that regard.

The other Galaxy player on the USMNT roster, defender Julian Araujo, did not feature in the game and in fact did not even suit up for the game, for undisclosed reasons. Hopefully he’s ok.

The Galaxy will be getting into preseason training camp in three weeks...if there isn’t a lockout, but fingers crossed we don’t have to worry about that nonsense. That means the fitness Lletget has built up in USMNT will wither, but we all make do with what we have. Hopefully LA will be back in action before too long.
