The first winner of “MLS Idle,” the league’s new talent show for players, was revealed on Thursday, and it was LA Galaxy defender Rolf Feltscher.
The Swiss-Venezuelan sang the Jackson 5 song “I’ll be there” in an elevator to showcase his hidden talent, and he racked up the most votes against his fellow contestants. In addition to bragging rights, Feltscher will have $1,000 donated in his name to the LA Galaxy Foundation by MLS Works.
And it turns out Feltscher sang in an elevator not because he has some kind of feeling about the acoustics, but because he was doing promotional stuff with MLS before the season and someone asked him to sing in the elevator. That mystery is solved!
Congratulations to our Week 1 #MLSIdle winner... Rolf Feltscher! @MLSWORKS will donate $1K to the @LAGalaxy Foundation's Covid-19 relief efforts in honor of Rolf's victory. pic.twitter.com/MZq5gYGFc3

Again, I think this show is really great and if you need something to do on Thursday at 4:30 pm PT, you could do much, much worse than watching “MLS Idle” for 30 minutes. Congrats to Rolf, and we’ll see if any more Galaxy players will participate in the show during the coronavirus shutdown.
