Eight games now impacted by coronavirus shutdown.

The USL announced on Wednesday morning the USL Championshp and USL League One seasons will be postponed until at least May 10.

That means the LA Galaxy II will be off several weeks beyond the original 30-day moratorium on the season. Eight games have or will be impacted by the suspension until May 10:

  • Last Friday’s home game vs. Austin Bold
  • This Saturday’s home game vs. Sacramento Republic
  • March 27 at home against Colorado Springs Switchbacks
  • April 4 at El Paso Locomotive
  • April 11 at New Mexico United
  • April 15 at home against Reno 1868 FC
  • April 26 at home against Las Vegas Lights
  • May 2 at OKC Energy FC

What does this mean for Los Dos, beyond the postponed games? We’ll just have to wait and see, honestly. Everyone is kind of in a holding pattern at this point. I would imagine if USL have extended their season suspension, MLS probably will too, and when the teams can pick back up, we’ll have to see when it is and whether the season will be shortened (looking more and more likely, honestly) and how the retooled slate will look.

In the meantime, we need to keep staying home as best we can, supporting those in need, those sick and working together to stem the spread of coronavirus. After that, we can see what happens when life gets back to normal.
