One thing the LA Galaxy organization made clear with their final offer for Cristian Pavon this week was their commitment to signing attacking pieces. If the Boca Juniors winger does not arrive, Dennis te Kloese and company move on to other options.

Speaking of which, Buenos Aires newspaper Olé is reporting Guillermo Barros Schelotto and LA have been keeping tabs on Martín Benítez of Independiente. The 25-year old forward is a “very important piece” of their system and comes with a 20 million dollar buyout clause.

Ricardo Enrique Bochini handed him shirt 10 just nine days ago. Martín Benítez, the new owner of the most emblematic dorsal, could be tempted by a United States club in the next few hours

While it’s highly unlikely the Galaxy would be willing to shell out that much for a player of his quality, the two parties could potentially negotiate a lower price. At the moment however, it appears LA are still prioritizing a move for Pavon.
