People call it arrogant, I call it confidence. Ignorant people call it arrogant, intelligent people call it confidence.”
Fans and pundits would be wise not to underestimate Zlatan’s confidence. The 37-old year striker put on a mental masterclass last week en route to a perfect hat trick as the LA Galaxy took care of their noisy neighbors to remain undefeated in the series.
As we mentioned, we’ll never know if Zlatan planned to celebrate right in front of manager Bob Bradley, but the display galvanized the squad and pulled LAFC’s unflappable confidence right out from under them. They had their moments in the second period, but ultimately never recovered.
For leading the Galaxy to one of their biggest wins in years, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been voted Player of the Week for the 20th week of the MLS season.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while a Twitter fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
