You didn’t think Robbie Keane was just going to quit playing football did you?

Admittedly, it has been some time since the former LA Galaxy legend left at the end of the 2016 season following an incredibly successful five years at the club. Besides the occasional trail or training stint, we haven’t heard much from the 37-year-old.

Up until this morning, that is.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham striker has signed a contract to play for reigning Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata. Keane will be managed by new manager Teddy Sheringham, a teammate of his at Tottenham.

Allegedly, the man with 68 goals and 146 caps for Ireland was in talks with Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp over a move to the Championship, but when negotiations stalled, Keane decided to embark on a new adventure. Hopefully Kean-o finds more success at what is most likely going to be the last time in his illustrious career.
