Sigi Schmid returns to the head coaching role, which he held between 1999-2004. Jeff Carlisle, of ESPN, says that Schmid already has a contract with the club that will run through the 2018 season.

It’s been a tough relationship since the beginning. The Galaxy went 6-10-4 and had the worst home record in all of Major League Soccer.
Many supporters have been calling for this move for a long time, and well it is finally here, it is happening.
Schmid’s first game in charge of the Galaxy will be against the club that let him go last season, the Seattle Sounders.
Keep following along as we will provide you with updates on transfers, news, and pre/post game coverage leading up to the return of Sigi Schmid this Saturdsay night.
Kickoff for this big match is set for 7:00 PM PST at the StubHub Center and will be shown on ESPN.
