Cozmo parachutes from another planet to rule the mascot world

Does your mascot skydive? No? Then he is not the greatest of all time.

Cozmo just can't stop being awesome. In a year that saw the lovable alien stripped of his title as the best mascot in the league via an online poll (albeit a dubious one), Cozmo doesn't seem to be letting it get him down. In fact, he just went and did something that should make everyone who voted for Kingston downright ashamed.

After a week of subtle teases via twitter...

... the time finally came for Cozmo to make his grand entrance before the July 4th game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, and boy was it grand.

Yes, that's Cozmo parachuting into the stadium. Yes, this actually happened, and, yes, it's extremely rad.

Don't believe us? Check out this awesome footage from Galaxy TV.

And, as if all of this isn't awesome enough, watch how Cozmo sticks the landing in full stride like an absolute boss.

If there was ever any doubt before, this should settle it. Cozmo is the greatest mascot of all time. Period. No, exclamation point. Exclamation point  followed by #legend and a fire emoji. I don't care what the voters say. The voters are wrong. Democracy is a lie and only Cozmo is the truth.

Of course, being an alien of much humbleness, Cozmo will never admit to his own greatness. "Really cool to see how many people enjoyed it," he told LAG Confidential via twitter. "To be fair, it was only a few seconds of being detached, but that all went by in a blur. Countless hours of planning and rehearsing went into what was a jump that lasted seconds." When asked about the success of his landing, he jokingly attributed it to his "karate air kicks."

But the question on everyone's mind seems to be, will we see Cozmo take to the skies again any time soon?

Famed renaissance man, Ninja Turtle, and apparently dude who could fly, Leonardo da Vinci, once said, "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

Cozmo, however, seems to have a different take. After being asked on Instagram whether it was his first time skydiving, Cozmo responded, "First. And last."

Apparently falling out of an airplane is actually kind of scary. But that's okay, Cozmo. Once is more than enough, and it's something we will always remember.
