Former England internationals Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard should be ready to go as the duo return from injury when the LA Galaxy travel to Cascadia to take on the lowly Seattle Sounders. Ashley Cole has been missing since picking up a hamstring injury against the San Jose Earthquakes in late June, and Gerrard was absent last week from the Galaxy’s 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers.
In total, the Galaxy arrive to this game on the back four straight wins and six games unbeaten. In large contrast, the Sounders have just one win in their last seven league games, and recently parted ways with longtime manager Sigi Schmid.
There is, however, a bit of good news for the Sounders. New signings Nicolas Lodeiro and Alvaro Fernandez will be available on Sunday after completing deals with the club earlier this week.
The Galaxy have already beat the Sounders twice this season, defeating them once at CenturyLink Field and then again in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals.
