The question remains. What team will Bruce Arena roll out with when the LA Galaxy take on the Seattle Sounders in the quarterfinals of the US Open Cup? The fact of the matter is this presents the Galaxy with a genuine chance at winning some silverware. The Galaxy have never made it this far under Bruce Arena, and the last time they lifted the trophy was more than ten years ago under Steve Sampson. In that regard, US Open Cup success is long overdue for the five-time MLS Cup Champions, and a win here would do no harm to the teams's overall title aspirations.

The Seattle Sounders, though, should be eager to reclaim a spot in the semifinals. Sigi Schmid's side are having a woeful season and face an uphill task to even get to the MLS playoffs. The US Open Cup may be the only realistic objective left for a team that currently sits penultimate in the Western Conference final.
