If the Galaxy were going through an MLS Cup hangover to start the season, last week's win over the Sounders was the equivalent of eating a big bowl of menudo. Not the prettiest thing you'll see, but it was effective, fulfilling, and a first step to a solid recovery.
Next up, Sporting Kansas City.
What to watch:
-Sporting KC's defense has been absolutely decimated by injuries. Ike Opara will tragically miss the 2015 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon, and regular starters Chance Myers and Seth Sinovic are also out with injuries. Can LA take advantage of a vulnerable back line?
(Graham Zusi is also a question mark with a hamstring pull, but should be good to go)
-Will Bruce go conservative? As you might expect during the early stages of the season, Bruce likes to exercise caution with injuries, bringing back players slowly to prevent further damage. Leonardo, Jose Villarreal and Robbie Keane are questionable with knocks, while Omar Gonzalez and Gyasi Zardes just went 90 minutes for the USA vs. Mexico on Wednesday. What kind of lineup will we see tonight?
With 32 possible lineup choices, Sean tries his best to narrow it down for you.
Can the Galaxy put a halt to Sporting's four game undefeated streak? Though the odds are high we won't see LA's normal starting 11 tonight, there can't be any excuses for a club that wants to repeat as MLS Cup champions. After some less than desirable results, the Galaxy need all three points.
See you all tonight!
