Gyasi Zardes Surprises Biggest Fan on the Ellen Show

Gyasi Zardes stopped by the Ellen Show yesterday to hang out with his number one fan.

Fresh off concluding his MLS season and breakout year with the US Men's National Team, Gyasi Zardes is now making celebrity appearances on daytime television. Watch out, America.

This past Tuesday, Zardes hopped on board the Ellen DeGeneres show Tuesday to meet his biggest fan, seven-year-old Kai Langer.

After singing a rendition of The Weeknd's "I Can't Feel My Face," Langer described Zardes as "really good at scoring goals and passing," which is nice because I'm sure it means that Kai's coach told him to watch how players pass the ball.

Just after that bit of analysis from Kai, Gyasi came out from backstage and the two shared a hug. Gyasi presented Kai with his very own kit (he wears the number 11, naturally), a sweet pair of Adidas cleats, and a signed ball.

The two maestros went to work immediately, and the youngster showed off some impressive dribbling skills before slotting a venomous finish into the bottom corner. I hope Curt Onalfo keeps an eye on this kid.

Needless to say, this is great exposure for Zardes and the LA Galaxy, but the most significant part of this is the effect it will have on Kai. The kid clearly loves soccer and was thrilled to meet his idol, and I can guarantee that he keeps playing for quite a while.

Thanks for helping grow the game, Ellen!
