MLS Injury Update: Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane matchday decisions

Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane have been held from full practice this week, but they will be available for selection when the LA Galaxy kick off against Real Salt Lake.

After reports this week that Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane were battling injuries this week, there's been much speculation over whether they will be involved in the LA Galaxy's weekend match against Real Salt Lake. Donovan has been dealing with a leg strain which has kept him from full practice this week, and ditto goes for Robbie Keane with an ankle injury.

Keane's ankle has been iffy for a while, but he's played through it when he could. Bruce Arena wouldn't comment on anything personnel related after practice on Friday, but it's worth pointing out that despite these reports the Galaxy never reported injuries to MLS.

It'll likely be a match day decision, as could be the status of Jose Villarreal who has been training with the US U-20 squad this week.

For Real Salt Lake, they're expecting the return of Kyle Beckerman from a dislocated rib. He's expected to slot right back in, and for Olmes Garcia and Alvario Saborio to start up top together for the second straight week. Defender Chris Wingert is listed as questionable.

The match, which kicks off at 6pm Pacific, is the el Jimador Match of the Week, for those out of towners without MLS Live packages. Locally it will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet.
