The LA Galaxy will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the first ever Western Conference Knockout Match on Thursday, November 1st at The Home Depot Center. The Match will kickoff 7:30 pm PDT and will be shown nationally on NBC Sports Network.
The match will be 90 minutes as is the usual way, followed by a 30 minute extra time period of 15 minute halves should the match end in a draw. If it's still tied after that, it will go to penalties. The winner of the knockout match advances to face San Jose in the Western Conference Semifinals.
The Galaxy were 2-0-1 against the Whitecaps this season. Should LA defeat Whitecaps FC in the knockout round, they will host the first leg of the semi-final series against San Jose on Sunday November 4th at The Home Depot Center. The return leg would be playing in San Jose a few days later.
The Galaxy of course also have a pair of matches this week, first in El Salvador against Isidro Metapan in CONCACAF Champions League. LA have already clinched the group, and will be sending reserves to El Salvador. The team also has the MLS season finale against Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday at 6:00 pm at The Home Depot Center.
