Fox Sports has been playing the first-ever El Trafico non-stop in recent days, in honor of the anniversary on Tuesday, and for good reason: A 4-3 LA Galaxy win featuring Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s MLS debut and a brace to steal a victory from the jaws of defeat, at home, against the upstart rivals. So let’s look back for a good cause.
The game started awfully for the Galaxy, as LAFC sped out to a 3-0 lead, behind a Carlos Vela brace and a Daniel Steres own goal just after halftime. But when the LAFC fans started yelling “Olé!” in the stadium, the tide turned.
Sebastian Lletget and Chris Pontius set the scene by scoring goals to get LA back in the game, which set the scene for the best goal in MLS history...
...followed by a game-winner by Ibra to close an epic game.
It was the rally to write the legend of El Trafico, a rivalry that took off in no time.
Now the good cause: Our partner at DraftKings has teamed up with United Way to raise money for coronavirus relief, and all you need to do is join the #DKRally by posting a rally cap photo.
For every person who shares their rally cap (hat turned inside out and put back on your head) on social media with the #DKRally hashtag, DraftKings will donate $1 to the United Way’s coronavirus relief efforts until we reach a $1 million goal. The money will help United Way across a range of needs from food banks to medical services to unemployment support.
How you can join the DK Rally
- Take a picture or video in your rally cap (be creative!)
- Post to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (or all if you want!)
