Another year, another jersey.

The LA Galaxy have released their 2017 away kit.

The LA Galaxy unveiled new blue secondary jerseys Wednesday as part of the club’s #OutOfTheBlue jersey launch campaign ahead of the 2017 MLS season.

Made by Adidas, the new Galaxy shirt is designed and engineered with Mélange fabric and adiZero technology made to keep athletes cool while wicking moisture away from their skin. The jersey’s crest is lightweight and flexible with a single gold star above the crest, signifying LA Galaxy’s MLS-best five MLS Cups.

The Herbalife Nutrition logo will appear prominently on the front of the club’s jersey. Herbalife Nutrition will continue to be featured on all LA Galaxy training gear for staff and players. Herbalife remains the LA Galaxy’s official and exclusive nutrition partner, with the entire line of the Herbalife products available to the club’s players and coaching staff.

Galaxy fans can purchase the new 2016 primary jersey online at the Team LA Store, MLSsoccer.com or by visiting the LA Galaxy Team Store at StubHub Center.
As part of the club’s #OutOfTheBlue campaign, LA Galaxy players and fans feature in lifestyle Polaroid prints as well as video and photo content captured around Los Angeles.

Thoughts? This year’s kit appears to be a case of “Don’t fix what ain’t broke”, with minimal changes to the previous away jersey. And that’s fine! The navy blue with an updated teal trim is a clean look.

These days it seems Adidas wants to prioritize associating MLS clubs with their established colors, a welcome change of pace IMO. But there’s a trade off: A more consistent look means less changes to the kit every rotation.
