MLS: LA Galaxy at Seattle Sounders FC Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off a cathartic first win of the season, the LA Galaxy won’t have much time to savor it, as they will host their first game at Dignity Health Sports Park since March, albeit behind closed doors, against the Seattle Sounders Wednesday.

The Galaxy downed a listless LAFC 2-0 Saturday, and LA put together by far their best performance of the season. If they can play that well every game, they’ll pick up a lot more wins and be a contender.

But it’s not looked that good very much this season, and the Sounders are no slouches, having themselves won their big rivalry game 3-0 on the road over the Portland Timbers Sunday. The Galaxy will have an extra day of rest and no real travel, so that could give them a little edge on short rest against the Sounders. Then again, Seattle’s likely to touch down, play the game, and get right back on the plane, so it may not matter all that much, especially so early in the re-restart of the 2020 season.

Still, this is going to be a good test for the Galaxy. If they can post a second straight win against the defending MLS Cup champions, the previous struggles can be put further behind them. If not? Well, questions will certainly be asked again, so this is another big game for LA.

Odds:

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Monday evening, LA are (+155) while Seattle are (+170). The odds of a draw are (+225), so the bookmakers think this is a pretty even match. With both teams coming off big wins, I can see the logic of that, certainly.

How to Watch:

Wednesday’s match between LA and the Sounders will be televised nationally on UniMás and TUDN in the United States, which you can watch via FuboTV. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 8 pm PT with kickoff to follow.
