The LA Galaxy played their latest preseason game on Wednesday, a preseason scrimmage against the Colorado Rapids at the DHSP complex, with the home side exiting 2-1 winners on the day.

Diego Rubio opened the scoring for Colorado in the 15th minute off a corner kick, before Nick DePuy tied up the game in the same manner for LA off a Cristian Pavon corner.

The go-ahead goal also came on a set piece, as trialist Gordon Wild’s free kick delivery looped over the first line and Giancarlo Gonzalez poked it home turns out Drew Moor was credited with an own goal in the 76th minute.

The lineups for LA:

Starting XI: GK - David Bingham; Julian Araujo, Giancarlo Gonzalez, Nick DePuy, Emil Cuello; Joe Corona, Sebastian Lletget, Perry Kitchen, Aleksandar Katai; Cristian Pavon, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez

To kick off the second half, Efrain Alvarez replaced Joe Corona and Sacha Kljestan entered for Lletget. But Alvarez was carted off the field with a leg injury minutes after he entered, leading to considerable concern he may have suffered a serious injury. To be determined on the diagnosis there.

Kai Koreniuk took Alvarez’s place, and then four more subs came at the hour mark: Justin Vom Steeg for Bingham, Ethan Zubak for Chicharito, Mohammed Kamara for Pavon and Carlos Harvey for Kitchen. Koreniuk, Kamara and Harvey are Los Dos players.

So that’s that for another preseason tune-up. LA have another preseason game coming up, Saturday night at The Dig against a new-look Chicago Fire side, and then it will be onward to the 2020 season. The campaign is approaching, and will be here before we know it.
