In the days after reports out of Argentina claimed the LA Galaxy were in advanced negotiations to bring attacker Favio Alvarez to Los Angeles, the club exchanged allocation funds with Minnesota United FC and the Columbus Crew, strongly suggesting a move is in the cards.
This morning quotes have emerged from the Galaxy GM confirming the news.
“We have a few candidates, we’re trying,” Te Kloese told MLSsoccer.com on Thursday, moments before the club made their first of two GAM-for-TAM trades. “With the time pressure on it, and everything going on, we’ll try to finalize something — obviously we need it by May 7. We have a few candidates.”
“The thing is with the transfer window with where clubs stand abroad, it’s obviously a little bit of a challenge for when they’re able to release their players, replace their players,” Te Kloese admitted. “To find the fine balance between MLS and the other countries is sometimes a little bit of a challenge, but we’ll work through it.”
Hopefully a deal can be reached in time.
