Recently on Pardon the Interruption’s Five Good Minutes segment, Zlatan Ibrahimović was the featured guest and spilled the beans on a number of topics, including the big news that the big Swede has been named this year’s captain of the LA Galaxy squad. (Watch the segment in full below)
Unofficially this has been known for weeks: Manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto clarified during pre season that Ibra would captain the club while Jonathan dos Santos would take up the vice captaincy. However this is the first time Ibrahimovic himself has acknowledged the honor.
Though Zlatan sternly commented on the distinction with the usual platitudes and veteran know-how, Ibra is clearly happy to lead the club while raking home the largest salary in the league.
(Perhaps one of these days Romain Alessandrini would make a fine captain, though he’d have to lose a bit of that fire and we’re not sure Galaxy fans would approve)
