Just minutes into the match the swashbuckling Romain Alessandrini drew a penalty kick, and on a night when the team gave away commemorative Zlatan “God of Goals” posters, it was fitting Ibra stepped up and converted a low finish.
Ibrahimovic would come close to scoring a second on several occasions, wizzing a bullet of a restart inches wide of the post and doing the same with a diving header. However Zlatan would complete his brace in the 58th minute, shimming around the Vancouver defense outside the box before unleashing a rocket that Stefan Marinovic could not keep out of his net.

Ibra would draw another penalty kick in the 76th minute, but the Swedish target forward chose to be unselfish and gave the kick to Alessandrini who roofed the opportunity into the top netting. 3-0 LA.
Despite losing influential right back Rolf Feltscher to yellow-card accumulation, the Galaxy will be riding high heading into next weekend’s crucial match at Sporting KC.
