LA Galaxy at Philadelphia Union match preview: What to watch, predicted starting 11 and TV schedule

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Los Angeles Galaxy Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

After a (using the term loosely) successful smash and grab in New England, the LA Galaxy head to Chris Pontius’ old stomping grounds to battle the Philadelphia Union Saturday night. (4:00 PT, Spectrum SportsNet)

What to watch

Who will replace Ashley Cole? Unavailable due to red card suspension, the 37 year old left back has been an invaluable presence on both sides of the ball. Expect Sigi to swap Cole with Dave Romney and slot Tomas Hilliard-Arce or Sheanon Williams at the vacant center back spot.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs. the young Philly back line: Another year, another promising center back tandem in Chester.

Teenagers Mark McKenzie and Aaron Trusty have formed a solid partnership in the back, earning the trust of manager Jim Curtin with their play as of late. But what the two Union academy products make up for in physical tools and raw talent, they lack in experience.

The veteran target forward with 11 goals in 14 appearances is well-positioned to exploit that lack of experience.

We’re going streaking! The Galaxy are unbeaten in six while Chris Pontius has tallied a goal or an assist in seven straight. With the second chapter of El Trafico just around the corner, LA want to keep both runs going in anticipation of next week.

Predicted starting 11
