LA Galaxy NYCFC match preview: What to watch, predicted starting 11, schedule and live stream

How will Sigi tinker the squad in LA’s second preseason matchup?

MLS: New York City FC at Los Angeles Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

After a few weeks of two-a-days under the unforgiving Tucson heat, the Galaxy will participate in their second match of the 2018 MLS preseason when they battle David Villa and New York City FC Saturday night at the StubHub Center. (7 PT, live stream at LAGalaxy.com)

2018 roster changes:

Out: Bradley Diallo, Clement Diop, Rafael Garcia, Jermaine Jones, Jon Kempin, Jack McBean, Jack McInerney, Raul Mendiola, Robbie Rogers, Brian Rowe, Nathan Smith, Pele Van Anholt, Jose Villarreal, Jamie Villarreal, Gyasi Zardes

In: David Bingham, Servando Carrasco, Rolf Feltscher, Tomas Hilliard-Arce, Ola Kamara, Perry Kitchen, Emrah Klimenta, Chris Pontius, Jorgen Skjelvik, Brian Sylvestre

What to watch:

What will the Galaxy starting lineup look like? Does Sigi continue to tinker with the formation or will we see the 4-1-3-2 again? Can the partnership of Gio and Ola improve on their showing vs. Real Salt Lake? Also, will 2018 SuperDraft pick Tomas-Hilliard get more of a look?

For NYCFC, who will replace new Manchester City signing Jack Harrison in the 11? Jonathan Lewis, Austrian winger Ismael Tajouri and Rodney Wallace are all possibilities.

Predicted starting 11:

Sigi Schmid will utilize two 45 minute squads for tonight’s friendly. LA will want to make a positive impression in front of a paying crowd, so expect the team to fight for a result.
