With the 17th pick in the second round of the 2018 SuperDraft, the LA Galaxy selected Drew Skundrich 40th overall, concluding today’s action in Philadelphia.

Detroit City FC head coach Ben Pirmann has the inside knowledge on Skundrich.
“Seemed to be the midfield engine for the Cardinals over their impressive run in the last couple of years”, observed Pirmann. “Selfless and a workhouse, Skundrich will need to improve some execution in his passing game in tight quarters. However, if paired with the right playmaker, he can be a great addition to a lot of midfields in MLS”.
The Galaxy may be stacked at the midfield position right now, but as MLS analyst Bobby Warshaw notes, Skundrich has the potential to be deployed as a outside back. We could see the three-time NCAA Champion signed to the first team, but a contract with Los Dos is looking more likely.
Earlier LA drafted Tomas Hilliard-Arce with the No. 2 selection.
