Have the Galaxy located their first signing of the Schmid father and son era? Nothing has been announced yet, but it appears to be a real possibility after Minnesota United’s GK coach spilled the beans last night.
Congrats to Jørgen Skjelvik og @LAGalaxy Good player, great club with a great history and good staff

Well done @MLS
Originally a winger by trade blessed with plenty of pace, the 26-year-old Rosenborg defender is a converted center back who can also fill in at left back.
As Eurosport notes, Skjelvik had lost his place in the starting lineup, and with his contract expiring at the end of the year, the Norwegian international with seven caps to his name decided to seek a fresh challenge. (Eurosport also reports Skjelvik would become the highest-paid defender in MLS, a somewhat dubious claim)
At first glance, it looks like an inspired signing. LA are in desperate need of a quality center back, and the Galaxy would not be required to pay a transfer fee for a European international defender in the prime of his career.
Hopefully we’ll have more news in the coming days.
