Bad news for Galaxy fans.
Belgian center back Jelle Van Damme is out 2-3 weeks after spraining his medial collateral ligament during the LA Galaxy’s draw vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

It’s a huge loss. The no-nonsense defender has been a menancing presence in the back four all season long, and has recently emerged as the Galaxy’s most offensive weapon with his precise long-balls and a penchant for pushing forward in the attack. His presence will be sorely missed.
You would have to think Daniel Steres and Leonardo would pair at center back, but with neither particularly adapt at scrambling on defense, the likes of Nigel de Jong (If he’s still here) are going to have to be at the top of their game.
