Jurgen Klinsmann has named his 22 man roster for the upcoming US friendly with Mexico on April 2nd. The match takes place in Phoenix, Arizona on April 2nd, four days before the LA Galaxy's next match which is against Chivas USA on April 6th.
With Klinsmann holding an all Euro camp during the last FIFA date, this non-FIFA date friendly is an opportunity to re-evaluate his stateside options. Newly association switched Julian Green of Bayern Munich is the only overseas player called in, with a handful of Liga MX players called in as well.
"Everyone knows the clock is ticking," said Klinsmann. "This is a huge opportunity for our players to show where they are at and to make their case. We expect them to give a really strong performance against a Mexican team that is now basically coming back on track. They need to prove now that they badly want to go to Brazil."
Landon Donovan was tied for the highest goalscorer on the national team last year with eight goals, and his fifty-seven goals over 155 caps is the most on this roster. The Gonzalez/Besler pair has been the default starting center back pairing since the 2013 calendar year kicked off, with both holding an MLS Defender of the Year title. The full roster is as posted below:
