We're down to the final two weeks of the preseason, with the LA Galaxy making final preparations for First Kick against Real Salt Lake. With two scrimmages last week it's time to update the minute counter again.

Saturday's scrimmage gave an idea of which player could end up starting the year on LA Galaxy II's roster, but I didn't get the impression everything is finalized. Rafael Garcia played with Galaxy II, but otherwise it relied on homegrown signings and academy players to fill the roster.

The club did announce today that they will have a closed door scrimmage against Minnesota United on Saturday. That's one more chance to tweak the roster which still is missing input from Robbie Rogers and Todd Dunivant who are supposed to begin training again this week. Jaime Penedo is supposed to be available for the opener, but anything can happen in soccer.

A.J. DeLaGarza, Landon Donovan, and Omar Gonzalez went the full 90 against LA Galaxy II. That puts Donovan pretty solidly in the left winger category heading into the opener. He and Gonzalez both skipped the scrimmage against UCLA after starting the week in New York.

Starters from Saturday against LA Galaxy II: Perk (62); DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, Leonardo (70), Riley (70); Zardes (77), Sarvas (62), Juninho (77), Donovan; Friend (45) [Samuel also went 45], Keane (70)

Second half lineup from UCLA scrimmage: Perk (45); DeLaGarza (45), Opare (45), Leonardo (45), Riley (45); Zardes (45), Juninho (45), Sarvas (45), Husidic (45); Samuel (45), Keane (45) [The starters were the younger set for this one]

Current projected by minutes First Kick starting lineup: Perk; DeLaGarza, Leonardo, Gonzalez, Riley; Zardes, Sarvas, Juninho, Donovan; Samuel, Friend

The only thing I still see as off is Keane and Penedo will start against Real Salt Lake. Dunivant and Rogers have a fight on their hands as Riley and Zardes have been solid. Rogers would add a passing element over Zardes that Arena might be interested in.
