- The report this morning out of Spain is that Mallorca have rejected the LA Galaxy's bid of an eight million Euro transfer fee and two million Euros a year salary for Giovani dos Santos. The Spanish article linked in the Ives article claims that Valencia and Villarreal are now targeting dos Santos, but that any proposals will have to be more than the one the Galaxy put down. Whether or not that means LA's bid is still technically on the table is unclear.
- The LA Galaxy U-18's began the US Soccer Development Academy playoffs yesterday, and they kicked off in a big way to the tune of a 4-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes' U-18s. Justin Dhillon managed a hat trick, scoring the first three goals for LA. Top Drawer Soccer praised Dhillon as a player with rare speed for his size. Others were impressed by the play by the silky midfield of Raul Mendiola, William Raygosa, and Brian Iloski. Iloski joined the Academy in March, after Barnstorming as part of Nike's The Chance competition. The other two sides in the group, New England Revs and Dallas Texas, drew 1-1 putting LA atop their group.
