After being taken out at halftime during the United States, Landon Donovan has been released from any further national team duty this cycle. The release has been done on injury concerns, citing an ankle injury. However, the ankle was not the reason he was removed from the game against Jamaica and Bruce Arena did make a request of Jurgen Klinsmann to have Donovan available for the upcoming match against the Montreal Impact.

Taken into account with Clint Dempsey avoiding call-up all together with injury concerns and then playing for Seattle mid-week, it's easy to come to your own conclusion. The extent of Omar Gonzalez' reported injury is still unknown, and we'll find out more when the team starts practice next week.

"Landon is still struggling with the ankle injury from a couple weeks ago, so he will go back to Los Angeles and try to get back to 100 percent," said Klinsmann.

With Panama still in the midst of qualifying Jaime Penedo will not be released early. The one to look out for is whether the Irish head coach has a change of heart and let's Keane off early, especially with Ireland now eliminated from World Cup Qualifying and Keane nursing an injury.

It's within the realm of possibility that Arena could have a full strength outfield to work with on Wednesday against the Montreal Impact.
