The other shoe has yet to drop, but the LA Galaxy have signed pool goalkeeper Brian Rowe to fill the third goalkeeper role. The 23 year old from UCLA is scheduled to join the Galaxy in Portland, Oregon later today. These moves combined make today look like a salary dump for a bigger move to be made later.

When Josh Saunders was in behavioral rehab and Brian Perk was still recovering from sports hernia surgery, Rowe trained with the Galaxy and backed up Bill Gaudette in two MLS matches as well as a reserve league match. He was selected by Chivas USA in the second round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft, but never signed a contract. He signed on as a MLS pool keeper, filling in whenever teams had needs. He appeared in two reserve league matches for the Portland Timbers, and one with the Philadelphia Union.

He spent four years at UCLA, starting all 44 games that the college played in 2010 and 2011; keeping 20 clean sheets in that time. He is a Eugene, Oregon native. He finished his UCLA career with a 37-8-5 record.
