The LA Galaxy haven't had the best time on the road as of late. The last time they came away with a win away from Dignity Health, was their 0-1 victory over Minnesota United, way back on August 14. Since then, the G’s have played four on the road, with two draws, and most recently, two straight losses.
To add to the pressure, the Galaxy failed to score a goal in their previous two losses, and the teams that were once a dot on the horizon behind them, are now within ear-blowing distance. However, LA can accrue some much needed confidence, with a win against Real Salt Lake, tonight.
RSL are coming off an absolute thrashing this past weekend, losing 6-1 on the road, against the Portland Timbers. Don't let that result create a false sense of security. The team have won three of their last five, with a 4-3 thriller over San Jose, and a 1-0 upset of Seattle Sounders, at home.
Both sides have dealt with plenty of injuries this season, and both come into this match, far more healthy than they have been. LA will have all starters available for selection. RSL, while healthier, do still have some key players potentially out for this one. Zack Farnsworth will be out, while Marcelo Silva, Bobby Wood, Andrew Brody, and Zac MacMath are all questionable.
According to our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Wednesday morning, LA Galaxy are (+235), Real Salt Lake at (+110) and a draw at (+265). That means the Galaxy come into this one as the huge underdogs. Which isn't a total surprise given their recent run of form.
