MLS: LA Galaxy at Minnesota United FC Matt Blewett-USA TODAY Sports

Today’s match is a big one. Sure, Austin FC may be the far inferior squad, on paper. They are also one of three teams left on the LA Galaxy’s schedule that already know their postseason position, will be on the outside looking in. Which is why this match is so important for the Galaxy.

These are the matches you have to win. Taking advantage of the teams with nothing to play for but pride, the teams who, on paper, should be easy to overcome. Coming into this match winless in their last six, and in fifth place in the Conference, the G’s have everything in front of them. After Saturday’s full slate of MLS action, they also know what the teams around them have done.

A win for the Galaxy not only puts them without shouting distance for a spot at the top, but it puts them in fourth place, keeping them away from the cloud of fists that is the battle at the bottom of the table.

Austin FC are in the midst of a five match losing streak, and look to end the suffering with a massive upset at home. While they already know they have no shot at a spot in the postseason, they will be looking to end their inaugural season on a high, starting with a win over the vaunted Galaxy.

Both teams come into this match healthy, with neither side nursing key injuries. This is great news for the galaxy, who’ve had to overcome injuries all season, but look to be getting healthy at the exact perfect moment. Now, they just have to take advantage, get the win, and continue to cement their place in the postseason.

Odds:
