How to Watch LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids: Lineups, odds, game thread

Galaxy will aim to pick up three points against inconsistent foe.

MLS: LA Galaxy at Colorado Rapids Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

Full time: LA 0, Colorado 2. The Rapids earn the win and LA have to regroup here. Thanks for following along, here’s the full recap.

78th minute: Goal Rapids. Jonathan Lewis gets the ball over the line, a few minutes after Julian Araujo gets a red card. Game is over, basically.

40th minute: Rapids goal. Cole Bassett with a nice tap-in to put the visitors ahead. Some adversity for the Galaxy to deal with here.

Lineups:

LA are going with a familiar group for this one, with Efrain Alvarez and Ethan Zubak starting again, Chicharito and Jonathan dos Santos on the bench.

Colorado are playing a young group, as they tout here:

The LA Galaxy are back in action Saturday night, as they’ll host the Colorado Rapids at Dignity Health Sports Park in the teams’ first meeting of the 2020 season.

The Galaxy remain unbeaten in the local return to play, although their last result, a 0-0 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on the road, was rather underwhelming from a Galaxy perspective. The attack was fairly flat, but hey, sometimes rivalry games are a real bear and they still got a point on the road.

Now, they’ll turn their attention to the Rapids, who are below the playoff line in the Western Conference, but are actually just two points behind LA, even with three teams between them. The Rapids have struggled in this phase of the season, winning just one of six games, and most recently coming off a 4-1 road loss against FC Dallas. Having said that, Colorado seem to have a roster made to start clicking at some point, but with Kei Kamara on his way to Minnesota United, are they moving the veteran striker on to add assets or are they somewhat punting on this season? Again, they are only two points behind the Galaxy in the standings, so things are far from settled at this point in the season.

Will Chicharito and Jonathan dos Santos start this game for LA? Can the Galaxy return to winning ways? It will be interesting to see how the game goes!

Odds:

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Friday evening, LA are (-107) while Colorado are (+265). The odds of a draw are also (+265), so the bookmakers make the Galaxy clear favorites in this match.
