The LA Galaxy have now picked up a Liga MX veteran with plenty of U.S. National Team experience to boot.
This afternoon the club officially announced the acquisition of Club Tijuana midfielder Joe Benny Corona. The 28-year old has spent his entire career in Mexico with Xolos but has gone on loan to several clubs including recently when he won the 2018-2019 Apertura title with Club America.
“Joe is an experienced and quality player who can immediately address an area of need for our club,” General Manager Dennis declared in a statement by the club. “I am familiar with Joe from his time in Liga MX and think he can be an impactful player on our roster. We are excited to welcome Joe to our team and look forward to his contributions.”
Signed with TAM fands, Corona will likely earn a starting position in the middle of the park, though where he fits in exactly is unknown for now.
