There would have been riots if it didn’t happen, but sure enough the club confirmed this afternoon Boca Juniors loanee Cristian Pavón will return to the LA Galaxy on a loan deal next season. The Argentine international hit the ground running, tallying three goals and eight assists in eleven matches to round out the 2019 MLS season. (His relationship with former manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto was instrumental in securing a loan deal for a world-class talent)

Pavón will take up one of the Galaxy’s three Designated Player spots and an international roster spot. Jonathan dos Santos occupies the second spot while Romain Alessandrini is out of contract and believed to be negotiating with the club. In addition to potentially bringing back Romain GM Dennis te Kloese has a number of positions to fill this winter.

LA open the 25th season of Major League Soccer March 14th on the road in Fort Lauderdale vs. Inter Miami FC.
