Everyone’s favorite Ghanian is coming back.
The LA Times’ Kevin Baxter is reporting fan favorite and RSL killer Ema Boateng, a 3-year veteran of the LA Galaxy, has signed a one year deal with a club option for another season.
Details of his contract were not released but it is believed to be for one season with a one-year club option and includes a significant raise from the $130,000 in guaranteed salary he got last season, according to the MLS players union.
Bringing Boateng back was a priority for the new look Galaxy organization. As potent as LA’s attack looked at times, the Galaxy were abysmal in transition: They were simply incapable of moving the ball quickly from the back to Zlatan, and a big reason for this was a noticeable lack of pace. As one of the few quick players on the roster, securing Boateng gives the technical staff a bit more flexibility heading into the season.
