Winless in six and guilty of conceding eleven! goals the past two road matches, the LA Galaxy defense is a tire fire. The Power Rankings politburo have responded in kind, dropping LA all the way down to No. 16 this week, a season low for Sigi Schmid’s squad.

The subpar defense continues to rear its ugly head and Saturday may have been rock bottom. Sigi Schmid and Co. have some time to figure this out ahead of a vital stretch run.
Despite the overwhelmingly negative mood of Galaxy fans, LA are not out of the playoff picture yet. That being said, there’s no getting around it: It’s desperation time for Zlatan and company.
Following the international break, Sigi Schmid should have a full lineup at his disposal to earn as many points as possible over the last six matches. Assuming the back line can replicate their form vs. LAFC (which is a big if), the Galaxy can exert one final push for the postseason.
