There has been considerable debate surrounding Efrain Alvarez lately. Will the talented youngster play for Mexico or switch back to the USA eventually? Should Alvarez be getting reps with the LA Galaxy 1st team or continue developing with Los Dos?
Based off every conversation I’ve had with Muñoz; Sigi and now Dom, their plan has always been to give him a full season with the second team before moving him up next year

One thing’s for certain, the kid is a baller. Alvarez’ skill set was on display once again last night at the Track and Field stadium as Los Dos ran Real Monarchs SLC off the field, led by a hat trick from the 16-year old that was so effortless it looked like target practice.
Alvarez got on the board deep into first half stoppage time by pouncing on a loose ball in the box and calmly feigning around a last-ditch tackle before tapping into an empty net. In the 52nd minute Efrain patiently probed before turning the defender and beautifully curving a shot outside the box past the keeper, and Alvarez completed his hat trick in the 75th minute with a simple scoop finish off a breakaway.
The youngster now has 12 goals in 16 games for Los Dos this season.
